We are so excited you're here!

After getting engaged in September 2019, Emily & Michael were ecstatic to plan their wedding. Little did they know, a literal pandemic would ruin their carefully planned September 2020 wedding. After initially postponing a year at their original venue in Nashville, they decided to wait even longer in order to plan a wedding they felt would be truly safe for all of their loved ones to attend. This wedding has been a long time in the making, and we could not be happier to celebrate with you! Please read the information on this website and check back frequently, we will update the page with health and safety information based on current guidelines. We are looking forward to a fun and safe celebration with you!

Accommodations

Hotels

We have reserved room blocks at several downtown hotels. All hotels are within walking distance of each other. Transportation to the venue will depart from a central location to all hotels. Please click the links below to book, or mention Long Murray Wedding when making your reservation in order to book your room at our discounted rate.

The US Open will be in Boston the week of our wedding, so rooms are filling up quickly. We strongly recommend reserving your room as soon as you are certain you will be attending our wedding.

Local Transportation

Walking + "The T"

Boston is one of the most walkable cities in the United States, and locals prefer to explore by walking and using the subway & street car system, affectionally nicknamed "The T." Despite being the oldest subway system in the United States, it's generally well-maintained and reliable, and can take you to the city's major attractions without having to worry about the expense and hassle of Ubers and parking. Tickets can be purchased at any of the downtown stations.

Uber and Lyft

Reliable in town, but wait times increase the further out you go. We recommend scheduling rides to the airport to ensure prompt arrival.

Driving and Parking

If you decide to rent a car, be aware that parking may be, at best, several blocks from your destination and run you upwards of $15 an hour.

Transportation to the Venue

Transportation to the venue will be provided. Transport will leave from a hotel downtown beginning at 3:15PM, with the last charter leaving at 3:30PM. We strongly encourage all guests to use this transportation to the venue to ensure a punctual arrival.

Explore Boston

Boston Public Garden

The first public botanical garden in the U.S., Boston Public Garden is full of seasonal flowers, the iconic bridge, and is a short walk from shopping on Newbury Street.

Acorn Street

A short walk north of The Common in the neighborhood of Beacon Hill lies the most photographed street in the U.S. No need to fret if the line for pictures is too long; there are plenty of equally cute, and significantly less popular, photo ops throughout the neighborhood.

Fenway Park

If you're at all interested in sports, Fenway Park is a must see! The "Green Monster" opened on 4/20/1912 and is the oldest operating baseball stadium in the country. Emily's hospital is "The Official Hospital of The Boston Red Sox" and Emily & Michael enjoy dropping by the park after work to support the Sox. The tour, like most things in Boston, is actually quite interesting due to the extensive history of the park. If you're not into tours, the Sox will be playing at home every day the week before, and the weekend of the wedding!

The Freedom Trail

The Freedom Trail is a 2.5-mile-long brick-marked path that passes by 16 locations significant to the history of the United States. It begins downtown at the Boston Common, winds through the North End, and ends at the Bunker Hill Monument in Charlestown. The walk from downtown to North End is about a mile, and makes for a great activity, especially if you end with a traditional Italian meal in the North End.

Bostonians take brunch very seriously, reservations recommended.

Dinner

If you're planning on walking the freedom trail during your stay, the North End is the perfect place to end your evening with a traditional Italian dinner amidst a truly historic European background. Enjoy homemade pastas at Mamma Maria or Cafe Roma in the beautiful town square in front of Paul Revere's home. If you stay in town through Sunday, you're likely to even see a traditional Catholic celebration of the saints as the sun sets.

Mamma Maria
- Hands down the best place to eat in North End, but pricey, and reservations can be hard to come by, so book early if interested!
Cafe Roma
- A bit more casual and affordable than Mamma Maria, far more likely to have a last minute reservation. Also fantastic for brunch!
Strega
- If you want pasta tossed inside a cheese wheel table side - this is the spot for you! They also have mimosa/ froze towers at brunch.

HEALTH & SAFETY

We have postponed our wedding twice in order to ensure our wedding is safe celebration and does not put any of our beloved friends and family at risk. Many individuals who are at greater risk of serious illness as a result of contracting COVID-19 will be in attendance. Therefore, we are respectfully requiring all attendees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, in accordance with current CDC recommendations at the time of the wedding. Additionally, depending on the transmission rates and viral strains circulating in June, we reserve the right to request guests be tested for COVID-19 prior to the event.

Please check back to this site closer to the wedding for additional information and updates.

Frequently Asked Questions

I have dietary restrictions. Can they be accommodated?

Absolutely! We have chosen a local farm-to-table catering company that is renowned for their ability to accommodate dietary restrictions. Please indicate your restrictions on the reply card included in your invitation, and we will be happy to accommodate!

What should I wear?

We request guests wear black tie optional attire to the wedding. This means men should wear suits with ties or tuxedos, and women should wear mid-length or full-length dresses. The wedding will be held outdoors in a garden, followed by a tented reception.

Can I take photos at the wedding?

We respectfully request you do not use your phone or cameras during our ceremony, as we prefer for our photographers and videographers to capture our special moment. After the ceremony, you are more than welcome to take pictures. Please use #longmurraywedding and tag us (@emilylong.md and @mookiemurray)!

I have additional questions, who should I contact?

Please contact a member of the wedding party, or fill out the Google form below and we will be in touch as soon as we can.
